Dear Families and Friends,
What do you look for in a school? What made you choose, and continue to choose St Bart's? Like all schools, we are interested in what parents and families think, in order to improve the things we do well and change the things that need attention. St Bart's is constantly reflecting on what works best for our children and how we can serve the community in which we are placed. Our vision summary is to provide "Outstanding Education, underpinned by distinctively Christian values, developing our pupils academically, morally and spiritually, within and as part of the wider community." This continues to be our aim, and we should never become complacent. Therefore, we are interested in your thoughts and would love for you to honestly complete this form. It asks the following questions (all optional):
There is a fourth question which asks how you prefer to receive information about school. You may tick all that apply to you. We want to make sure that you feel part of school life and know what is going on with your children.
Teachers have just begun writing annual reports which summarise the things that the children have achieved and made progress with, as well as areas for development. We celebrate the children's achievements each Friday afternoon. To achieve something takes both time and effort. We can't be passive in the process - we must be active and intentional. We must strive towards a goal with determination, being resilient when things don't go our way. I asked the children to think about how they will spend their time and effort this coming week. Maybe you could ask them about it.
The week just gone included our Year 6 completing their statutory assessments - SATs. They should be applauded for their attitude and effort in these national tests, and definitely deserved their end-of-week treat! Of course, the term isn't over, and I know that Mrs Whitaker has many plans for the children, as do all of our teachers.
So, whether you're enjoying the sunshine, watching the FA Cup, tuning into Eurovision or doing something else, may you have a productive and enjoyable weekend.
Yours sincerely,
Mr. Restall & The St Bart's Team
