St Bart's News

The latest information about school and our community

Dear Families and Friends,

At the end of another amazing and tiring week, I would like to say a huge thank you to our wonderful PTA for organising last week’s Summer Fayre, which raised over £1,500! This fantastic total will go directly towards fun activities and resources for the children. An ice cream van treat at the end of term is just the beginning! We are also planning to purchase new games and equipment for use in classrooms and during break and lunchtime, helping to make every day more enjoyable and active for our pupils.

I am sure that you would like to join us in expressing our heartfelt gratitude to Mrs Hedley, who is retiring at the end of this term after over 30 years of dedicated service at St Bart’s. Her care, commitment, and faithfulness have touched generations of children and families, and she will be very much missed. Thank you, Mrs Hedley!

We also offer our congratulations to Miss Redpath, who has done a fantastic job teaching Class 1 this year. She has secured a new role starting in September, and we wish her every success in the next chapter of her teaching career.

I am pleased to confirm that all other class teachers will remain in place for the new school year. Our amazing support staff will continue to be timetabled flexibly to meet the diverse needs of our children across the school. Mrs Armstrong is expected to return from maternity leave in the autumn, and we will be in touch with all our Reception parents shortly with details about transition arrangements for their children.

As we approach the end of term, we give thanks for the joy-filled moments we’ve shared this year - moments of learning, laughter, friendship, and celebration. We also recognise that the coming weeks will bring change: new classrooms, new teachers, and, for some, even new schools. Transitions, while sometimes challenging, are also opportunities for growth. The Bible reminds us: “To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven.”
(Ecclesiastes 3:1)  Whether you are saying goodbye, stepping up, or simply continuing on, we pray that every child and every family would feel supported, secure, and hopeful for what lies ahead.

A big thank you to Mrs Jackson for organising such a lovely “Book-nic” - a joyful day of reading and refreshments enjoyed by all. It was a fantastic celebration of books and imagination.
