Autumn Term

Week Commencing: 7th October 2024

This week, we've been busy trying to improve our speed on Times Table Rockstars in the computer suite. Our aim by the end of Year 4 is to answer within 5 seconds!

Week Commencing: 14th October 2024

This week in Class 4 we've been looking through our box of artefacts from the museum. Here we are doing some Roman role-play with a very heavy helmet!

 

Week Commencing: 21st October 2024

 

Here we are sketching our very own Roman soldier using charcoal to create a cool 3D effect and silhouette. 

 

This week, we've started designing our own Roman shields. Here is stage 1 - (MESSY!) paper mache!

Week Commencing: 4th November 2024

  

This week, we've been continuing our work on our Roman shields. The painting stage is now in full swing, and we're very nearly finished.

This week, Class 4 have been busy with our dance teacher, Michael, learning puppet choreography. We can't wait for it all to come together and see how it looks in costumes and face paint. 

     

We've also been busy making remembrance cards in art this week. Every card turned out beautifully after some perseverance and resilience from the class.

This week, Class 4 attended a creative writing workshop at Live Theatre. Every single child impressed the staff with their creativity and imaginations.

Spring Term

Week Commencing: 6th January 2025

This week, we've been making firework-themed cards in Art. We used chalk to give our designs a cool shadow effect.

Week Commencing: 13th January 2025

This week, we've been busy in science carrying out an investigation into liquids and gases. We even got to watch a demonstration outside where Mr. Quinn was taken by surprise!

We've also been learning about the water cycle and made some predictions in terms of the different stages involved.

This week, we've went a bit times table crazy! We even made our own times table flashcards to battle against each other.

Week Commencing: 27th January 2025

This week, we've started our class dance project which is all about A.I. (artificial intelligence). Here we are learning some choreography with Mr. Quinn.

Week Commencing: 3rd February 2025

This week in Class 4 we've been continuing with rehearsals for our dance project, which is all about artificial intelligence and identity. Here we are getting to grips with some tricky choreography, trying to ensure - as much as possible - that the movements are synchronised.

This week, we've been recording our class dance performance. Here is a sneak preview!

Week Commencing: 17th February 2025

This week, we watched the premiere of our class dance performance 'AIdentity' with a well-deserved milkshake and some popcorn. Keep an eye out on your emails to watch this at home!

Week Commencing: 3rd March 2025

This week, we celebrated 'World Book Day' in Class 4 and some of us dressed up - including Mr. Quinn and Mrs Hedley who both came as the word 'sleepy'.

Week Commencing: 10th March 2025

This week, we've been developing our keyboard playing skills. Working in pairs, we've been getting to grips with single and double-handed playing.

Week Commencing: 17th March 2025

This week, we enjoyed spending some time outside in the sun during an art lesson. Next time, we must remember our sunglasses though!

Week Commencing: 24th March 2025

This week (as always) we've been coming in each morning and getting straight on with our short maths. We particularly enjoy taking part in Mr Quinn's Countdown number challenges!

Week Commencing: 31st March 2025

This week, we've been working very hard but also enjoying some quiet time with our beautiful school pets - the guinea pigs. Here's Eve enjoying some 1-on-1 time and a little cuddle!
