Welcome to Class 4's page! 

Homework will be given out every Friday and should be returned the following Thursday. Homework will be based on what we are currently learning in class, helping the children to consolidate and reinforce their learning.

On Monday, we celebrated Roald Dahl Day! We talked about his life and some of the books he wrote and the children loved sharing which of his stories they had enjoyed reading. Inspired by Roald Dahl's book George's Marvellous Medicine, the children each created their own marvellous medicine. They had so much fun making disgusting medicines and reading them out to the class. They did such a great job! 

In Science, we continued our topic of Living Things and Their Habitats by taking an adventure to our school pond to see what insects and animals we could find. We discovered all sorts of creatures and discussed their different habitats, as well as whether they were vertebrates or invertebrates.

The children have settled into Year 4 brilliantly and have been super busy! In maths, we have been exploring place value, focusing on thousands, hundreds, tens and ones. In English, we have been revising punctuation and grammar, as well as enjoying a scavenger hunt around the classroom to identify prefixes and suffixes. In history, we have started a new topic by learning about the Celts and Romans, while in science we have begun exploring Living Things and Their Habitats. In addition to all of this, the children have been enjoying both independent reading in our new reading corner and reading The Wild Robot during our whole-class reading sessions.
