    St Bart's News

The latest information about school and our community

    Dear Families and Friends,

It’s been a full and lively week here at St Bart's, filled with high-energy activities and plenty of smiles! As autumn settles in and the leaves begin to change, we’ve been reflecting on God’s wonderful creation, as described in Psalm 104, and marvelling at the incredible variety of animals, plants and landscapes He has made.

We’ve also been thinking about the many languages spoken in the world – and in our school community too. Alongside our English and Spanish learning, many of our pupils speak other languages at home, which makes our school such a rich and interesting place to be. After all, communication is at the heart of everything we do. That’s why we encourage the children to talk about their day, share their ideas, and rehearse what they want to do next. Good communication helps us work together and achieve so much more!

You should now be booking our Breakfast Club and after-school Activities Club online, making it easier than ever to secure a space for your child. Entry to Breakfast Club is through the playground (not the front door), and we kindly ask parents to be prompt when picking children up from Activities Club. If you do find yourself running late, please call their new phone number: 0191 625 0879. Thank you for helping us keep things organised and smooth for all involved.

Looking ahead, our much-anticipated school discos will be held on Wednesday 15th October. Tickets are available from the school office for only £1 per child, with lots of sweet treats for sale on the night. It’s sure to be a fun-filled evening with music, lights and plenty of dancing – a real mid-term treat from the PTA!

A gentle reminder that Monday 13th October is a staff training day, so the school will be closed to pupils.

Finally, as the autumn winds pick up, please take care when travelling to and from school. Parking needs to be respectful of our neighbours and safe for everyone – leaving home in good time helps to keep things calm and careful at the start of the day.

Let’s continue to notice God’s handiwork all around us – in the crisp air, the falling leaves and the cheerful chatter of our children. Have a safe weekend everyone!

    Yours sincerely,
Mr Restall & The St Bart’s Team
