Dear Families and Friends,
What another fabulous week at St Bart's, with Christmas performances and nativities! Thank you so much for coming and supporting the children, as they shared the true meaning of Christmas with us all. I don't think there is a better, more moving way to celebrate Christmas than with primary-aged children, especially at St Bart's. Children have a special way of looking at things, presenting things, and sharing things that it would be wise not to miss. Jesus said, “Let the children come to me and do not stop them, because the Kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” (Matthew 19:14) Let us all, at times, try to see life as a little child does, with awe, wonder, magic and amazement!
This coming, final week will also be very busy. Our PTA Christmas Fayre raised over £1,500. Thank you for this. The great news is that we still have some raffle prizes that arrived a little late, including sought-after tickets to see panto legends: Danny Adams, Clive Webb, Chris Hayward and Joe McElderry in "The Little Mermaid" at the Theatre Royal this season. We also have some hot chocolate, festive baubles and Christmas treats for pets available. If you'd like to buy an extra raffle ticket or 3, we'll be selling them each day, at £1 per strip. We will draw the extra prizes on Thursday afternoon.
Our Christmas Service at St Bartholomew's Church is on Thursday afternoon, at 2:30pm. Do remember to pick up your children from the church door at the usual time, unless they are booked into our Activites Club.
Here are the main events for this week:
TEN more sleeps!
Yours sincerely,
Mr. Restall & The St Bart's Team
