During 2026-27, news will be shared here each week.

Welcome to our Nursery Class Page!

Mrs Lisle and Miss Lunn are really enjoying getting to know your wonderful children,

who have settled well and are beginning to learn our Nursery routine.

    In Nursery we;

    *Play everyday

    *Learn Phonics and Maths skills

*Love being outdoors in all weather

    *Learn how to be independent

*Make friends and learn how to share.

    Week beginning 28/09/26

This week in Nursery we have really been interested in and noticing the surrounding environment both indoors and out! We have loved seeing our family pictures up on the wall in our role-play area (please keep emailing these to the school office) and we saw a huge tractor and heard a helicopter flying overhead!

Our Nursery Rhyme of the week has been; 'Baa Baa Black Sheep'.

We have learnt some actions to go along with the rhyme.

Can your child remember any of them when singing the rhyme?

We have also been really enjoying small world play with animals. Mrs Lisle set up a farm with some familiar animals and we have been singing 'Old Macdonald had a farm' and making lots of animal noises and sounds.

    Week Beginning 21/09/26

Our Nursery Rhyme of the week has been; 'The Wheels on the Bus'.

Can the children tell you what Mrs Lisle's favourite action is for this rhyme?

We have also listened to the story 'Whatever next!' By Jill Murphy.

Miss Lunn brought in a huge cardboard box, and we had so much fun acting out the story using some classroom props!

    Week beginning 14/09/26

This week we have been learning the Nursery Rhyme 'Round and round the garden.'

We have also been learning the number song '5 Little Ducks went swimming one day.'

Play the video below and see if your chid can sing along with the words!

    Week beginning 21/09/26

This week in Nursery we have been learning a lot more about your fabulous children, including what their favourite colours are, how tall they are now and which stories they like to listen to!

The children have also been looking carefully at their own faces this week, using a mirror, and they have painted some amazing self-portraits which we are going to be displaying in the classroom.

Our Nursery Rhyme for the week has been; 'Wind the Bobbin up.'
I wonder if any of the children can remember the second verse?

In maths we have been making collections of items and talking about which has more or less. We have also been and sorting items based on colours.
