    ๐ŸŽ“ Pupil Premium

    Updated October 2025

The Pupil Premium is additional funding allocated to schools to help raise the achievement of pupils who may face disadvantage due to personal or financial circumstances.

Introduced in April 2011, the funding is provided for:

    • Children from low-income families who are eligible for benefits-related Free School Meals (FSM)
    • Looked-after children
    • Children from families with parents serving in the Armed Forces

Schools have the freedom to use the Pupil Premium in ways that best support their pupils, but are required to publish:

    • The amount of funding received
    • How the funding has been spent
    • The impact of the funding on pupil outcomes

Our Pupil Premium Strategy is reviewed annually in October.

๐Ÿ“Œ How We Use Pupil Premium

Common uses of the funding include:

    • Employing additional staff to support learning
    • Enhancing the curriculum and learning resources
    • Subsidising educational visits and enrichment activities
    • Supporting the cost of school uniform and essential equipment

๐Ÿงพ Apply for Free School Meals

If you think your child may be eligible for benefits-related FSM, please apply - even if your child is in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2 and already receives a free meal through Universal Free Meals. This ensures the school receives the funding it needs to support all pupils.
