Dear Families and Friends,
What an extremely busy second week it has been in school! We are delighted to have welcomed our new pupils, especially in our Early Years classes. It is such a joy to see our youngest learners settling in so beautifully.
We are pleased to announce that House Captains have now been elected – well done to all who put themselves forward so courageously. Our boys’ and girls’ football teams have also been chosen and are looking forward to an exciting season ahead.
As our school family continues to grow, we are making some careful adjustments to support staff timetables in order to meet the increasing needs of pupils with SEND. We kindly ask for your patience and prayers as we put these plans into place. As the Apostle Paul reminds us, “encourage one another and build each other up” (1 Thessalonians 5:11).
We completely updated our computers and photocopiers over the summer, which has led to a couple of hiccups as we have tweaked our systems. MarvellousMe should now be working more consistently, and all families should have downloaded and installed the app as, alongside email, this is our primary way to communicate to you.
As well as using MarvellousMe and email, we love to share regular updates about school life through our Class Pages. Each week, teachers update their page with homework as well as special highlights of the week. This week, we are excited to launch a new reading project, which Class 3 should already recognise from their time with Miss Watts. Links to the new reading Padlets have been posted on each class page, giving children the chance to share their thoughts about the books they are enjoying. Our hope is to use these Padlets each week to promote reading for pleasure, spark discussion, and deepen the children’s enjoyment of this vital life skill. After all, the more you read, the more you grow!
If you or someone you know would like to join our staff team, we are currently looking for lunchtime supervisors. Just email the office or pop in for an application form as soon as possible.
Our first PTA meeting of the year will be held in school this coming Wednesday. Everyone is welcome – we truly cannot do it without you! Thank you in advance for your support, which makes such a difference. Come to Class 6 at 6pm.
School clubs will begin next week, with spaces still available to sign up for. Don’t miss out on the fun and enrichment they provide.
Finally, a big cheer goes up for the staff and pupils who took part in the Great North Run events last weekend! Their determination reminds us that every worthwhile goal requires effort, training and time. A lesson for life, both on and off the track. And remember, at St Bart's, we don’t just run on energy… we run on encouragement too!
Yours sincerely,
Mr Restall & The St Bart’s Team
