Dear Families and Friends,

This week has truly sparked curiosity across our classrooms! As part of Science Week, the children have been diving deep - quite literally - into the world of sharks. They’ve been exploring fascinating facts about these incredible creatures, including just how old a shark can be! Miss Parker prepared a brilliant investigation, helping the children make clever connections between a shark’s age and size, and their own height and years. We’re excited to see the results of their research once the data has come together. Thank you Miss Parker for making the world of science so engaging (and just a little bit jaw-some!)
Curiosity really is at the heart of learning. When children ask “why?” and “how?”, they begin to see the world as a place filled with wonder and possibility. As a Christian community, we also treasure a curious faith: one that keeps asking questions, listening carefully and growing in understanding. The Bible encourages us to seek wisdom and understanding, reminding us that God’s world is rich, beautiful and worth exploring.
Looking ahead, we are beginning preparations for our Easter church service in the final week of term. This will be a special time to gather as a school family, to reflect on the hope of Easter and to give thanks together in worship. More details about timings and arrangements will follow shortly so that families can join us if they are able.
Easter preparations also mean it is time to launch our very egg-citing Annual Easter Egg Challenge, inspired by the upcoming Artemis II Moon exploration launch and the adventure of space travel. "MISSION EGG-TEMIS: Egg-straordinary Creations!" invites our children and families to design and create egg-themed models linked to atronaughts, moon landings, rockets and space discovery. There will be three categories to enter (see below), with house points and Easter eggs up for grabs, but most importantly the joy of creating, imagining and working together at home. Entries should be brought into school in the final Monday or Tuesday, with families invited in to see them at the end of the day on Wednesday - with the PTA offering refreshments too.
Outside of the classroom, there’s more to look forward to! The PTA Quiz Night is fast approaching on Friday 27th March. It promises to be a fun evening of friendly competition, laughter, and community spirit. Gather your brightest minds (and maybe a few good guessers), and join us for a night where curiosity could just win you a prize!
So, it’s time to get cracking with your inventions and creations before the final week of term! We cannot wait to see your out-of-this-world ideas, and to celebrate once again how curiosity in learning, in faith and in the future helps our children shine.
Yours sincerely,
Mr Restall & The St Bart’s Team
