St Bart's News

The latest information about school and our community.

Dear Families and Friends,

We’ve reached the last week of what has been a short but busy half term! Over the past three weeks, we’ve been reflecting on the importance of being Ready, Respectful and Safe - three pillars that help us live and learn well together. A the very end of this week, we turned our attention forward to being Curious. Our familiar friends Connie and Connor made a surprise appearance in our Friday Achievement Assembly, asking for help in finding Cosmo! Ask your children what they think might happen next, and look forward to the next chapters of “Curious”, the story, designed to develop metacognition and to get everyone thinking deeply.

After the half-term break, it will be time for Parents’ Evenings again. When booking your slot, please do make sure you complete the final step of the booking process. Reserving a slot is like saving a cinema seat - you still need to confirm it! You’ll receive an email confirmation once your appointment is fully booked, so please don’t rely on a screenshot.

World Book Day will take place at the beginning of March, and our theme this year will be inspired by the Little People, Big Dreams series (littlepeoplebigdreams.com). We invite children to dress up as someone who inspires them, rather than a fictional book character. Book tokens were sent home on Friday so that families can buy a new story to enjoy over the half-term, rather than waiting until the day itself.

As we head into the half-term break, may it be a welcome pause: a chance to catch our breath in the busyness of a full term. Despite the rather relentless rain of 2026, take time to go outside, enjoy God’s creation, and recharge those batteries. After all, even the clouds can teach us something about patience and renewal. Let’s return ready to shine brightly once more in the second half of term!

“Be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10).

Yours sincerely,
Mr Restall & The St Bart’s Team
