SonSeekers has been running at St Bart’s for nearly 20 years. It was set up by Christian parents, and has always been run by a variety of Christian parents from a range of local churches. It was set up to contribute to the Christian ethos of the school, to provide Key Stage 2 children the opportunity to learn more about the Jesus of the Bible and the Christian faith, in a fun and less formal setting than other Christian input during the school day. It is run for 30 minutes, during a lunchtime, and any Key Stage 2 child is welcome to attend if they would like, whether they are Christian, follow another faith, or would say they had no faith. In each session, we might teach about a part of the Bible, a character from the Bible, Jesus’ teaching or some aspect of the Christian faith relevant to the children. We do this through direct teaching, crafts, games and songs.

SonSeekers is currently led by Liz Jackson and Tess Garrett, with help from other parents. We also, at times, have help from others, with permission from Mr Restall.
