Can your child tell you anything that they have learnt all about the season of Autumn? Can you go on a Autumn treasure hunt and find leaves of different colours - RED, ORANGE, YELLOW, BROWN and GREEN. 

Can you make an autumnal picture with your child, maybe leaf rubbing or sticking and making a leaf picture?

Friday 14th October 2022

This week we have been learning and talking about our bodies - from our head and facial features, right down to our toes! Ask your child about what they can do with their bodies - can they point to and name the different parts?

Join in with the Head, shoulders, knees and toes video below.  

We have also begun to talk about our families and have painted our family trees this week. Talk with your child about the word 'family' and who is in their family. If you have not already uploaded some family photos to Tapestry, please could you do this as we will be, using them with your child next week.

Matching

In Maths this week we have been finding things that match and have used the words 'Is it the same?' Can you find any objects in your house and play a matching game with your child? Could be sorting socks to find the same colour or pattern or setting the table and finding the same items of cutlery!

You can be as creative as you like with this one, but please upload some photos to Tapestry, to share your child's learning at home with us!

This week we have read the story 'The Tiger Who Came to Tea' by Judith Kerr. Listen and watch the video with your child below - can they tell you anything they remember about the story?

We have also practised keeping a steady beat in our Phonics sessions, with different body percussion movements. Ask your child to show you clapping 4 times, patting their knees and stamping their feet along to the 'Steady beat' music.

We have also talked about the numbers 1 and 2. Can your child identify any objects at home or out and about that correspond with these numbers, for example, 1 spoon and shoes or socks etc.

We would love to see any photographs or videos on Tapestry 

Our story for this week is 'The Tiger Who Came to Tea' by Judith Kerr. Could you have a tea party with some cuddly toys - what food would you have?  I would love to see some pictures on Tapestry!  Do you have any other Tiger stories at your house that you could share with a grown up?

This week we have been talking about colours we know and like.  We read the story of Elmer and how he did not like being all different colours!  Listen and watch the video below, with your child. Can they tell you which part of the story they liked best and why?

We have enjoyed singing counting songs at Nursery and have learnt what the Number 1 Numicon shape looks like.
