RE and PE with Mrs. C!

Happy Tuesday year 5! This week I'm mixing RE and PE together, it will all become clear soon. I hope you all had a lovely half term holiday. Did you have pancakes on Tuesday? We did! Do you know what day follows Shrove Tuesday (Pancake Day)?

That's right - Ash Wednesday, which is the first day of Lent.

(If you don't know what Lent is, research it.) smiley

Below you will find a web link to follow, which takes you to The Scottish Bible Society website. During the season of Lent, there are 'Wonder Walks' to complete. Try to do 'Week 1' this week - make the most of the warmer weather and sunshine. Get your whole family out 'wondering' and 'walking!'

Now that you have watched the video about forces, I would like you to have a go at the worksheet below. You need to look at the pictures and decide which forces are in action. Remember, when you draw the forces on the diagram, to think about their direction and size.

Extension.

Look at the story on the worksheet and decide what forces are in action in each part of the story. The first one has been done for you. As a challenge, why not think about which of the forces will be greater?

Art and English combined!

Here is the second verse of The Highway man. It describes the Highway man.  Can you draw a picture of what you think he looks like based on this verse?

He'd a French cocked hat on his forehead, and a bunch of lace at his chin
He'd a coat of the claret velvet, and breeches of fine doe-skin.
They fitted with never a wrinkle; his boots were up to his thigh!
And he rode with a jewelled twinkle
His rapier hilt a-twinkle
His pistol butts a-twinkle, under the jewelled sky.
