Week 8 1.03.21

Monday 1st March 2021

Good morning Nursery boys and girls and welcome to our last week of home learning!

Today is the first day of a new month, March. We are continuing on with our 'Superheroes' theme this week, then we will be moving onto Spring.  If you get the chance to go out for a walk, or to the park, can you have a look and listen around you, to see what signs there are to tell us that Spring has sprung, in preparation for coming back to school?

Here are todays tasks...

Phonics

For todays phonics task, we are going to be recapping all of the previous sounds we have learnt and practising writing them, saying our rhymes to help us.

You will need:

A whiteboard and pen and rubber or,

paper and felt tip pens or a pencil.

Watch the videos below to help you practise writing the sounds we have learnt.

Maths

For your maths task today I would like you to watch the Numberblocks episode below, 'Counting Sheep'.  Can you count out six animlas or toys at home.  Can you arrange your six objects into 2 groups of 3 and say, " six is the same as 3 plus 3".  Now arrange your objects into groups of 2. How many groups of 2 do you have? I would love to see some pictures and videos of you doing this task, on Tapestry.

Today in Phonics we are going to be learning a new sound. Can you look at the pictures below and guess what it might be?

The sound is 'm'.  Can you find any objects in your house that have the 'm' sound at the beginning and tale a picture to show me, on Tapestry?  Have a go at the Superhero sheet below!

Maths

For Maths today, practise the Superhero counting song and then have a go at the tasks below. Superhero counting and ordering to 20 and some Number sentences, addition to 10.  I have also included some Number formation practise, that you might like to do first, before completing the addition task.

Thursday 4th March 2021

Today is World Book Day!

Your tasks today, will involve lots of things to do with books!  Your first task is to make a cosy reading den, somewhere in your house - it could be your bedroom, the living room or your favourite room in the house! What can you use to make it nice and cosy? Could you have a chair in your den or something to sit on?  If your den is too small, for a chair, what else could you sit on?

Next, I would like you to get dressed up, as a character from a book. Do you have any dressing up clothes?  If not, what can you find to dress up in, as a book character? Will Mrs Lisle and Mrs Heslop be able to guess, who you are?  Please send us lots of photographs on Tapestry, of your reading den and of you dressed up!

Now, I would like you to find your favourite book. Can you read it yourself? Can you record a video telling Mrs Lisle, what the story is about. I would love you to bring your favourite story to our Zoom session tomorrow to show your Nursery friends.

Later on today, I would like you to take your favourite book and go and find an unusual place to read it. It could be outside in the garden or if you go out somewhere today, take your book with you and get your grown up to take a photograph of you, reading your book in an unusual place!

Have a fun day!

Can you guess the stories?

Mrs Lisle loves the author Julia Donaldson.  The story below is one of my favourites! Do you know any other Julia Donaldson stories?

Don't forget it's our Nursery Class Zoom session tomorrow at 9.45am.

We will be singing the Superhero number song, having a go at the body percussion and looking at your favourite stories from home.

We can't wait to see you there!

Friday 5th March 2021

Good morning Nursery Class!

Today is your last day of Home School learning, before you all return to Nursery, next week!

Mrs Lisle and Mrs Heslop are so proud of you all for joining in with and completing lots of learning tasks at home. We have loved seeing your pictures and videos on Tapestry, so a great big THANK YOU to your grown ups aswell, for helping you have lots of fun at home, whilst learning too!

As a special reward, I have uploaded a Home Learning certificate below, that you might like to print out.

Have a think about something that you are proud of doing and learning at home. It might be learning a new sound, learning to write numbers or new words!  Whatever it is I want you to know that, Mrs Lisle is so proud of you for ALL of your learning and hard work and we can't wait to see you back at Nursery on Monday!
