Brian has written some sentences for us to look at today. Unfortunately, he has forgotten to use any punctuation marks! I would like you to write out the sentences and put in the missing punctuation. 

Remember 1 star sentences are a little easier and 3 star sentences need more thought.

Maths

This is our last day on Money. Tomorrow we will be starting a new topic in Maths.

Brian has been to the zoo. Write down the coins needed to go on the different activities. 

Extension - Brian goes on 2 or 3 activities. What is the cost now? Find the coins to pay for the new amount.

History

Transport in the Past

Transport in the past was very different. Click on the attachment below.  Have a look at the pictures of transport in the past. Talk to an adult about what you notice. 

Imagine you are going on a journey in an old car. Where would you go? What would you do? Would it be a long or short journey? Would you be able to go in wet weather?

Phonics

We are going to continue with alternative spelling today. Click on the attachment below and read the words using n, gn and kn spellings. Try and write some of the words with the correct spelling. You will also find a 'silly' story. Try and find lots of different words in the story with the different spelling of the 'n' sound.

English

The Darkest Dark

Today I would like you to write a description about the picture at the beginning of the story. Think about using lots of adjectives to make your writing interesting. Don't forget to use capital letters and full stops. You will find the picture in the attachment below. I've also written my own description to give you some extra ideas.

Maths 

We are starting our multiplication topic in Maths. The first lesson asks the children to find and make equal groups. Watch the short videos below to start with.

After watching the videos look at the images below. Try and say the sentences to match each image.

Activities

2 star activity - match two images to the correct amount. If you don't have a printer you can look on screen to see which images match.

1 star activity - sort the images - equal and unequal groups. If you don't have a printer show your adult which groups are equal and which ones are unequal.

RE

How do we know that Jesus was special?

Look at the image below of the nativity scene. How do we know that Jesus was special? Think about the people who came to visit Jesus. Look at the bright star shining above him. 

Imagine you were going to visit Jesus. What special gift would you give him? Write about what you would give him and draw a picture.

I would like you to write about a trip to the moon. Write a diary entry about what happened. Think about how you got to the moon, what you saw when you were there and who you met.

Today we are going to look at using the multiplication symbol. Watch the videos below for examples.

After watching the video, work through the example below before completing the activities. 

I have attached a 1 star and 2 star activity.

For the 2 star activity, I would like the children to draw the equal groups, show the groups as an addition and then as a multiplication. 

If you don't have a printer, just get your child to show their answer on a piece of paper.

Design Technology

Design your own planet

I would like you to design your own planet. Draw your planet and colour it in. Think about what your planet would be called and how many miles it would be away from the Sun. What would the weather be like on your planet? Who would live on your planet? Would people be able to go on holiday on your planet?

I've included a couple of sheets with ideas of what you could include. If you don't have a printer, just use the sheets for ideas and draw your planet on paper.
