I would like you to do a piece of descriptive writing today Class 4. Your focus is what Chloe and Mr Stink see during their helicopter ride to 10 Downing Street. What are some of the landmarks they pass on the way? For example, do they see Buckingham Palace? The London Eye? Big Ben? Try and write a couple of paragraphs, using as much descriptive language as you can. This means, plenty of adjectives and reference to the 5 W's (who, what, when, where, why).

Geography

I would like you to do some research and answer the following question: 'What is an earthquake?'. I have uploaded two pictures below that will give you some clues.

Imagine you are Chloe. You are allowed to ask the British Prime Minister 10 questions. What would you ask him? They can be related to politics, or trivial (this means, about absolutely anything!). Here are two questions I would like to ask the current Prime Minister.

1. Why do different parts of the UK have different laws and legislations, if we are the "United Kingdom"?

2. Who is your hairdresser? Are they qualified to cut hair? Do you think they need to find a new career?

Here is an example with the Australian Prime Minister, who is answering questions sent in by children.

I would like you to create a fact file about what an earthquake is. Your fact file should explain what an earthquake is, why it happens and the impact an earthquake has on the world.

RE and PE with Mrs. C!

Happy Tuesday year 4! This week I'm mixing RE and PE together, it will all become clear soon. I hope you had a lovely half term holiday. Did you have pancakes on Tuesday? We did! Do you know what day follows Shrove Tuesday (Pancake Day)?

That's right - Ash Wednesday, which is the first day of Lent.

(If you don't know what Lent is, research it.) smiley

Below you will find a web link to follow, which takes you to The Scottish Bible Society website. During the season of Lent, there are 'Wonder Walks' to complete. Try to do 'Week 1' this week - make the most of the warmer weather and sunshine. Get your whole family out 'wondering' and 'walking!'

Science

Hi Class 4,

I hope that you have enjoyed your half term holiday. This week in Science, we are going to complete our work on teeth by looking at the teeth of different animals. So far, we have looked at our own teeth but the type of teeth an animal has depends on diet. I would like you to revise your work from last year on Carnivores, Herbivores and Omnivores. Can you remember what these words mean? What type of diet do these different groups eat?

This week, I would like you to watch the video linked below and then research one animal from each of the three groups above and create a fact file on each. Include the animal's name, size diet and what its teeth look like (maybe you could draw a picture of its skull, showing the teeth). I have included 2 examples of templates that you may want use for your fact file or you could design your own. The video also shows a similar investigation to the one the children in school set up before the holidays, so you can see what maybe has happened in their investigations too!

Enjoy learning about the teeth of other animals, I look forward to reading some of your fact files.

I would like you to do a book review of Mr Stink. I have uploaded a template for you to use below. Remember don't spoil the ending, but instead, give the reader a summary of the story. I have attached the Guardian's review of Mr Stink below. This will give you a feel for how to structure your book review.
